Cheap Computer Guide - Computer Memory and its functions

PART 1
Computer memory is the fastest, simplest and cheapest
upgrade for your computer

Computer memory is very important to your system's functions.
A computer system's memory is its workspace. Everything the computer does is processed somewhere in memory.
The two main types of memory are Random Access Memory (RAM) and Read Only Memory (ROM).
Random Access Memory (RAM):
This is the computer's working memory and it has two distinct characteristics. (1) RAM is volatile which means all information stored in the chip will be lost when the system is turned off and (2) RAM can be written to and read from.
Today's operating systems (such as Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7) and application software require large amounts of RAM (Temporary Memory).
There are different types of RAM :
Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM)
This is most commonly used for main memory. DRAM is also referred to as fast page-mode (FPM). Since this is one of the cheapest types of computer memory, it is used as main memory in most computer systems. DRAM must constantly be refreshed on a regular basis; hence, while it is being refreshed, it cannot be read or written to. This causes system slow-down, which can be compensated by two methods; namely, paging and interleaving.
Paging:?? Improves memory speed since the memory is accessed in chunks called pages; hence, the name Paging. Accessing computer memory in pages is almost like reading a book because as long as the book is open at a certain page, you can read from the top, the bottom or anywhere on the page.
If you want to read the next page, you simply have to wait until the page turns which takes longer than skipping around on the page to read different sections. This is how paged memory works. Because when a page of memory is accessed, data can be read from anywhere in that section of memory.
Changing to a different page requires more time; therefore, the computer has to add a wait state. This wait state is time wasted for the Computer's CPU (Central Processing Unit) which has to wait until it can access memory (RAM). Click here icon and here iconto view cheap computer memory.
If you have fast enough RAM, the CPU does not have to wait to access data; hence the system has a "zero wait state". But since DRAM needs to be constantly refreshed, wait states are sometimes required.
Interleaving:?? Interleaved memory is accessed faster than paged memory. With interleaved memory, odd bytes are one bank and even bytes are in another bank. While one bank is being accessed, the other can be refreshed, saving time.
By using interleaving, computer memory access can be almost doubled without using faster computer memory chips.
Extended Data Output (EDO)This is an enhanced version of DRAM. Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM)
This is a type of DRAM that runs in synchronization with the system bus. SDRAM can operate at higher clock rates than standard DRAM. If SDRAM is used for main system memory, wait states are reduced or eliminated because the signals are already synchronized with the motherboard clock. SDRAM is the most popular type of memory used in new computer systems. At present, SDRAM can operate at speeds in excess of 800 MHz.
Static RAM
This operates just like DRAM except for one important difference - It does not need to be refreshed; hence the word static which means fixed. Since this computer memory is fixed or static and doesn't need to be refreshed, it can be accessed much faster than DRAM. Click here to look at some RAM RAM
Access times for SRAM can be below 2 nanoseconds (ns) while access times for DRAM are between 60ns and 70ns. Since SRAM is faster than DRAM, why isn't SRAM used for all the system memory? Unfortunately, SRAM is physically larger, cost more to produce and consumes more power than DRAM.
Read Only Memory (ROM)
This is non-volatile memory which contains data that isn't lost when the computer is turned off. ROM is programmed into the chip by the manufacturer which means information is written to ROM during the manufacturing process. This information doesn't change once its written - it's stored in the chip permanently. ROM is used on motherboards, modems, video cards, etc. to store data, programs and instructions that must be retained when the system is powered down.
One good example is the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) which is used to boot your system.
On boot up, the computer loads data from read-only memory (ROM) and performs a power-on self-test (POST) to ensure that all the components are operating properly. During POST, the computer memory controller checks all the memory addresses with a quick read/write operation to make sure that the memory chips have no errors.
BIOS is loaded from ROM and provides information about boot sequence, storage devices, security, etc.
Following this, the operating system (OS) is loaded from the hard drive into the system memory (RAM) where critical sections of the OS are retained as long as the computer is powered on.
This feature allows the processor to have immediate access to the operating system which enhances the overall performance of the system.
If an application is opened, it is loaded into RAM and only essential sections of the program are initially loaded and then other sections are loaded as required. Doing this, conserves RAM usage.
While using an application, any files that are opened are loaded into RAM.
After completion, the file can be saved and the application closed. When this is completed, the file is written to the dedicated storage device (hard drive) and both are cleared from the computer memory (RAM).

How to choose your desired laptop

When you want to buy a laptop course there are many things that need to be primed for your consideration not to see his brand. Each laptop any brand of the same strong and obstinate that famous and often also have problems like broken from it all, but all decisions must be viewed from what your needs for its application.
Here are tips and suggestions:
1. Make sure to what work will be used Laptops and any applications that will be installed so that you can prepare its budget, why would I say this because he later you would be wise to specify the options that suit your budget and limit choice unless you have lots of funds may choose a higher specification.

2. Choose Laptop with longest warranty period, and see what is in the warranty in the first year, two and so on read all the rules written on the card guarantees and choose which of his many services have a place not that many places services mean many are broken but that they are ready to serve you and facilitate you to repair and consultation of all your problems remembering things that laptops are often loyal to accompany you wherever you go, on your job especially if you are frequently out of town or out of the country so that all problems do not interfere with your work. 3. processor and memory is important because it must be balanced with the operating system and any applications you want to install ...
because if its fast processors but his memory is very small, or vice versa does not support to the working system of the laptop itself so it should be balanced ...
Suppose you want a laptop-based Celeron, Intel Core Duo, Core2Duo or AMD if its Windows XP operating system, at least you wear with memory ranging from 512 Mb and not more than 1.5 GB because not only will add to the budget was not balanced .. . except if its operating system has been using windows vista you may use more memory 2 Gb and also depending on the application software will be installed.
So I hope you are not wrong in taking a decision to buy a laptop like what best suits your own needs and expectations.

Apple's Magic Mouse

Apple once again shocks the cyber world by introducing Magic mouse. It is the world's first Multi-Touch mouse. It began with iPhone. Then came iPod touch. Then MacBook Pro. Intuitive, smart, dynamic. Multi-Touch technology introduced a remarkably better way to interact with your portable devices — all using gestures. Now with Magic Mouse Apple succeeded in bringing gestures to the desktop with a mouse that’s unlike anything ever before.

It has a button less multitouch surface where the mouse itself is a button. You can scroll in any direction with one finger, swipe through web pages and photos with two, and click and double-click anywhere. Inside Magic Mouse is a chip that tells it exactly what you want to do. Which means Magic Mouse won’t confuse a scroll with a swipe. It even knows when you’re just resting your hand on it.

Magic Mouse uses powerful laser tracking that’s
far more sensitive and responsive on more surfaces than traditional optical tracking. That means it tracks with precision on nearly every surface — whether it’s a table at your favorite cafe or the desk in your home office — without the need for a mousepad.

Magic Mouse connects to your Mac via Bluetooth wireless technology, so there’s no wire or separate adapter to worry about. Pair Magic Mouse with your Mac and enjoy a reliable and secure connection up to 33 feet away. When you combine Magic Mouse with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, you create a workspace free of
annoying
cables.

And because Magic Mouse is wireless, it can venture beyond the confines of your desk. A quick flick of the on/off switch helps conserve battery power while Magic Mouse is tucked in your bag. Even when it’s on, Magic Mouse manages power efficiently, by detecting periods of inactivity automatically.

When you use gestures, it’s as if you’re touching what’s on your screen. For instance, swiping through web pages in Safari gives you the feeling of flicking through pages in a magazine. And scrolling with Magic Mouse isn’t your everyday scrolling. It supports momentum scrolling (similar to iPhone and iPod touch), where the scrolling speed is dictated by how fast or slowly you perform the gesture.

System Requirements

  • Mac computer with Bluetooth wireless technology
  • Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0* or Mac OS X v10.6.1 or later with Wireless Mouse Software Update 1.0
  • Existing keyboard and mouse for setup
  • Two AA batteries (included)

Maximizing Fire And Brilliance""Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds

Since the ancient times, diamonds have captivated the interest of humans. They are probably the most revered articles of accents provided by nature; deeply symbolizing beauty and forever. Among all the stones that our world holds, diamonds are the most preeminent and sought after. Whether they are loose diamonds or blood diamonds, one definite thing remains about these gems, they will be valued by people of all generations.

Because of our deep appreciation for diamonds, they emerged as permanent trinkets of jewelry during special occasions such as betrothals and weddings. Fine diamond rings and almost all diamond jewelry pieces have become valuable possessions that are in the same valued positions as that of real estate and artworks. Due to these, purchasing diamond pieces has turned into an endeavor that requires thorough understanding of the stones characteristics in order to make wise choices. While much has been said about the clarity, color, and carat of diamonds, not all of us are very familiar about the facet of diamond cutting.

Cut, when it comes to diamonds, pertains to the style or design guide used for shaping a diamond that is subject for polishing. This does not pertain to the shape of the diamond, rather the symmetry, proportioning and polish, which directly affects the stone's brilliance and fire. Practical history of diamond cutting dates back to the middle ages and is continuously innovated to date. Although many cutting styles have emerged and fall off along the way, the round brilliant cut remains as one of the most revered by jewelers and jewelry aficionados alike.

Round brilliant cut was originally developed by a Belgian diamond cutter named Marcel Tolkowsky in 1919. Considering that Tolkowsky was an engineer by profession, his development of the pertained cut was strongly based on precise mathematical and empirical analysis, with consideration on the importance of brilliance and fire of diamonds. As an end result, a diamond cut this way contains 58 facets""33 on the top or crown, 25 at the bottom including the culet or the bottom point of the stone. Similarly, since a single cut produces two diamonds, one is larger than the other, very few diamond pieces are wasted.

A round brilliant cut diamond that is cut properly creates a shape that permits more light to reflect on the diamond in differing angles, enhancing its brilliance and fire. Relative to its safe shape, diamonds cut in a round brilliant pattern are considered as best preferences in the aspects of "saleability," visual optics and insurability. Other than these qualities, diamonds that are round brilliant in cut are also revered for their versatility to befit any type of jewelry setting. As such, it is not a surprise to know that approximately 75 percent of diamond jewelry sales are credited to this kind of cut.

When scouting for loose diamonds to be used for customized jewelry pieces, it is advised to opt for pieces that are round brilliant in cut. With the outlined characteristics of such cut, you could definitely maximize not only the extrinsic features of your diamonds but also its saleability and insurability. Nevertheless, with its flexible character it won't be difficult for you to find the setting that would complete your jewelry. In a nutshell, diamonds that are round brilliant in cut are definitely worthy of your expenses.

If you are looking for diamonds, you may want to consider loose diamonds, which would give you the option to choose your desired setting for your fine diamond rings. However, to further maximize the value of these loose sparklers, pick the ones that have round brilliant cut. This cut is noted for its ability to exemplify the greatest brilliance and fire in diamonds.

Arranged Vs Love Marriage

Marriage is perhaps the most celebrated social institution. Every girl grows up with a dream of getting the best partner in life and living happily ever after. But the million dollar question is – Who will decide who your Mr. Right will be? Is it the individual herself or is it the family that collectively has to take a decision?
There has been an old debate that continues unending that what lasts longer – Arranged Marriage or Love Marriage? Supporters of both the views have forwarded their points but the battle continues each claiming their own view on the mantra of successful marriage.
Arranged Marriage
Arranged marriages happen all over the world and more so in the conservative societies which emphatically include Asian societies. The parents of the boy or the girl search for a suitable match for their progeny based on several criteria such as caste, religion, family background, education, financial stability, tradition, etc.
In an arranged marriage, the responsibility of a successful or unsuccessful marriage lies with three units – the couple, the girl’s parents and the boy’s parents.
PROS
More chances of harmony – there are more chances of harmony between the bride and the bridegroom since they are perfectly matched in terms of most of the important things of life and therefore they understand each other well. There are no surprises and shocks since they have a fair idea of each other’s family background and upbringing.
Parental support – When parent’s consent is also involved, parents offer unconditional support to the newly weds in times of trouble. They take the full responsibility of any differences whatsoever happening between the two and take a personal interest in their harmony.
Social Acceptance – Though the times have significantly changed, there is still more social acceptance for couples going in for arranged marriage in some societies.
Love Marriage
Marital bliss that is formed on the basis of love alone is the concept of love marriage. Love is blind and the marriage more so happens without considering any other thing like culture, education, age, financial and social compatibility etc. the couple see each other, spend time together and understand each other and finally when they think that the right person is here, they marry. The consent of the parents takes a backseat here.
If you find yourself comfortable in this category, you will probably want to choose the best suitable partner for you in order to avoid regressions later. But let us equally respect the fact that getting what you want is not always easy but nonetheless can be achieved with some worthy efforts to attract your ideal man and keep him craving for more.
However, in a love marriage the responsibility of the success or failure of the marriage lies solely on the couple.
PROS
Love is The Foundation - Unlike arranged marriages that start to thrive on common platforms, a love marriage is founded on love for each other. Whatever are the differences in terms of religion, education, culture, family background, caste etc., the couple takes it in their stride and the love helps them take the normal course of life. There is no external pressure to keep the marriage going except the willingness from the couple.
No Interference – In love marriage, there is complete freedom as the couple enjoys their privacy and freedom to resolve their internal differences. There is no poking of noses in the matters that relate to husband and wife only.
The best part of this debate is that there have been innumerous living examples that support the view of both the sides. Though some people think understanding is the key in a successful marriage, others leave it on destiny.
