A Week in the Life of Orla Murphy Jewellery

We've had a pretty busy week in Orla Murphy Jewellery. It all started last week with a competition in Cork News which had a great response and I hope Jayne from Ovens will enjoy her new necklace. On Sunday I had the privilage of meeting Cork's new Lady Mayoress, Catherine O'Connell, who I am delighted to say will be wearing Orla Murphy Jewellery during her term of office. Word about the web site continues to spread - so exciting. Late this week Cork Independent featured a number of our pieces in their style pages and the response to that has been fantastic.

My personal favourite from the online store is featured above. J103 is a magnificent Diamante Drop Heart and Flower Necklace & Earring Set. It really is a fantastic piece and would look great whether you are looking for jewellery for a special occasion, or you just want to add a touch of glamour to an outfit for a night out.

Stuff Those Mugs With Chocolate!

Ceramic mugs and travel mugs are great promotional products. Imprinted mugs handed out as gifts or business builders are appreciated and usually get used repeatedly. So how do you make a great promo better? You stuff it! Custom labeled coffee packets and hot cocoa packets are perfect accompaniments for a mug gift. They give the recipient a reason to start using the promotion right away. And who doesn't appreciate a hot cup of cocoa or coffee to perk up the work day? Custom labeling can provide continuity with the mug imprint, or be an addition message for double the impact. A full color label will let you get really creative as well. So stuff the promotions this year, with extra "perks."

Why not choose promotional pen to promote your brand

What will you do when you want to promote your new brand? Will you choose to advertise on television? Or you will print your new logo on a magazine. All the methods above are expensive, and the effects are short. In fact, you can advertise your brand through a cheap way. You can choose promotional wholesale pen. Promotional pens are among the most well liked of all promotional products as everyone can use a pen.

When you are looking for promotional products for your business, you want to choose products that will be used by people, hopefully on a daily basis. Promotional products such as pens can work even better when it comes to spreading the word about your business or whatever you are promoting because they are often passed around. This gets the word out even more to an increasing number of people.

If you decide on promotional pens, you can take your pick from name brand pens such as Bic and Parker, to name two, as well as factory direct promotional pens. You can have whatever you want printed on the promotional pens and have them created in various colors. You can pass out these just as you would other types of promotional products.

Promotional pens are the best way that you can spread the word about your business and do it in an inexpensive manner. Promotional products like pens do not cost a lot of money to have printed and are something that people use all of the time. People will be glad to take your promotional wholesale pen and use them again and again, constantly reminding themselves as well as anyone else who uses the pens, about your message.

Promotional Products – Corporate gifts

Corporate gifts are used to challenge the competition and for withholding a strong position in the market competition. In the world, when we talk about corporate links and relations it is a must to maintain healthy and yet competitive relations with other clients and do your best not to lose the customers at any cost. These are the little things; if proper care is taken, then these would benefit the corporates with multiple profits but otherwise carelessness can easily ruin the profits overnights. So, one needs proper strategy and planning for offering corporate gifts.

Yoga and Balance

As we explored various ways to do poses using wall ropes, we taught our discoveries to others. During this time, a group of students from abroad came to study with Guruji. They had studied with him in the past and were eager to learn "what was new". They were all thrilled with the new wall rope system, and when they left, they expressed their desire to put up wall ropes in their studios back home.
Two years later, the same group returned to continue their studies at the Institute. We were astonished! They could no longer do the poses that required strength or endurance. Their intensity had faded and their poses had wilted. Their bodies were floppy, depleted of spunk and strength. We couldn't understand what had happened. Very diplomatically, we inquired about their daily practice. They said they had been so excited about the wall ropes that their entire practice now consisted of hanging on wall ropes in one pose after another! We had our answer: An approach that had been designed to merely balance an active practice had become their sole practice, hence their practice was now an imbalanced practice.
The young and aggressive members of our group of student teachers had a good laugh at the expense of these yogic bats, yet they continued to practice in their own imbalanced ways. Many of them felt that they were far too young and fit to bother with restorative poses at all. Restoratives were for the old or the weak! Or the lazy! These young teachers just wanted to "go for the burn," and become lean and mean.
They wanted to become as physically attractive to the opposite sex as possible, yet somehow appear "yogic". As an inevitable consequence, one of these young teachers became physically abusive to his wife and children. Another ended up with extremely high blood pressure, while yet another became chronically irate and judgmental. Still another, violently pushing against the tensions that were bottled up inside him, ended up resorting to the bottle. So, while those who practiced only restoratives could barely hold themselves up, those who practiced only vigorous poses ended up agitated, overly sexed, and violent. Ah, balance! Why are you so hard to find?

Laptop Battery Removed from Casing Battery

The battery on a laptop serves as its life-line. A laptop will work without a battery if it is receiving power from a power adapter.

The battery allows you to be more mobile without having to be near a power outlet for an extended period of time. Most laptop batteries will last for about 1.5-2 hours before needing to be recharged. If your battery dies or has a defect you can buy a new one from your computer’s manufacturer or a local computer or electronics store.

AC Adaptor
The AC Adaptor is the source of electric power for a laptop. The power adapter does two jobs when it is plugged in. It powers the laptop and charges the battery.

Intel Core 2 Duo and Extreme Processors

For a company like Intel to stumble and that too, badly, for the two years prior to the launch of the now runaway hit, the Core 2 Duo has been quite an experience (not to be confused with the P4, Core Duo - whereas the P4 Core Duo could complete three instructions per cycle, the Core 2 Duo can complete 4 – and that is without talking about processing power and efficiency). Especially when the underdogs, AMD had almost overtaken it.

But then, all that has changed with the introduction of the Core 2 Duo and the rest. It was when Intel decided to scrap the Netburst micro-architecture that never reached the potential that Intel believed was possible, and focused on the Pentium M architecture designed by their Israeli team that things started brightening up.

The architecture of the chip is simply known as Core, of which the products include Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme. Both run on an 1066 MHz FSB bus and are built using 65nm transistors. Again, both are dual core chips, with the Core 2 Extreme coming with a higher cache and a higher clock speed. (There is also a workstation version of the Core architecture – Woodcrest Xeon.)

These processors are built on a 143 sq mm die and are made up of 291 million transistors, regardless of their L2 cache size. While rivals AMD use 90nm tranistors on their chips, Intel uses the 65nm ones.

Code named ‘Conroe’, Intel’s Core 2 Duo will have a mobile counterpart, named ‘Merom’.
Following are the various versions of the Core 2 Duo that are available.

Testing by PC World and others show that the Core 2 Duo processors are the fastest amongst the range considered for the desktop PCs. (Of course, we haven’t talked about the Quad Core ‘Kentsfield’ series from Intel – consisting of two Conroe chips.)

Apart from that, the Core 2 Duo series boasts of lower power consumption, resulting in lesser heat and higher performance.

Of course, the disadvantage is that you cannot use the processors on your existing motherboards as these processors - though they sit on the same Socket 775 interface as with the earlier Pentium 4 sockets – require different chipsets. Major manufacturers are ready with their motherboards which can use these Intel powerhouses, e.g. Gigabyte, ATI, nVIdia.

While it is difficult to say that whether investing in a Core 2 Duo motherboard makes sense in terms of longevity and it is known that the processor is incompatible with a lot of Pentium-compatible chipsets, it depends on the customer to make the call.
